Wild Transport

The Wild Animal Transport Project emerged as an innovative response to the need for safe and efficient transportation of wild and exotic animals. Facing a market lacking in adequate solutions, this project aims to provide greater comfort and safety for the animals during transport, as well as for the professionals involved, such as biologists, veterinarians, firefighters, and police officers. The central idea is to develop a means of transportation that respects the specific needs of different species, minimizing stress and risks associated with moving these animals.

Research Direction, Product Design

The Challenge

The execution of the Wild Animal Transport Project involved facing various challenges, especially related to the inadequacy of existing equipment. The commonly used transport boxes are improvised and do not meet the physical and psychological needs of the animals, jeopardizing the safety of both the animals and the carriers. Additionally, transportation over rough terrain and the lack of ergonomics in the handles of the boxes are recurring problems that required a detailed and human-centered approach.

The Research

To develop an adequate solution, extensive research was conducted, including interviews with professionals who frequently deal with the transportation of wild animals. Technical visits to screening centers and veterinary clinics provided valuable insights into the practical conditions of transport. This research helped the team to deeply understand the varied needs of the involved species and to design a transport box that was practical, safe, and comfortable for different types of animals.

The Solution

The result of the research culminated in the creation of an innovative transport box made of lightweight and durable aluminum, with adjustable internal divisions and ergonomic bars to facilitate handling. This design considers the visibility and comfort of the animals, allowing adjustments in light entry and ventilation. The box can be easily adapted to transport different sizes of animals, ensuring that each species has the appropriate space and conditions for safe and stress-free transport.
