Stand Mobile Milano
This project for Salone del Mobile Milano highlights innovation in booth design during pandemic times. With suspended furniture to ensure safe ventilation, the stand creates an airy and functional environment. Showcasing luxury furniture at varied heights, it generates a dynamic and attractive effect. The Challenge
This project for the grand event of Salone del Mobile Milano faced the challenge of adhering to strict safety and health regulations imposed due to a global pandemic. The goal was not only to showcase exclusive furniture signed by renowned designers but also to ensure a safe environment for visitors. The main difficulty was creating a space that allowed for adequate ventilation, preventing the spread of pathogens. Thus, it was essential to design a furniture arrangement that facilitated air circulation through the event corridors.
The Challenge
Another significant challenge was to minimize the stand’s occupancy space without compromising the visibility and attractiveness of the pieces presented. It was necessary to find a creative solution that kept the stand functional and aesthetically pleasing, highlighting the unique features of each piece of furniture. The idea of suspending most of the furniture emerged as an innovative response to these problems, allowing a 360-degree view of the pieces and freeing up floor space for the free movement of visitors.
The Research
The research involved analyzing various materials and suspension techniques to ensure each piece was secure and stable. The furniture arrangement was thoughtfully planned, prioritizing visual harmony and space functionality. Chairs and armchairs were placed at different heights, creating a dynamic and interesting effect. The support structures were integrated into the design of the furniture, ensuring that aesthetics were not compromised. This approach allowed each piece of furniture to stand out individually while composing a cohesive and harmonious set.
The Solution
The final solution, revealed in the image of the stand, shows a successful execution of this strategy. The suspended furniture creates an airy and open environment, while also drawing attention to their unique shapes and details.
